India’s First Pizza ATM at Chandigarh’s Sukhna Lake

Chandigarh, known for its picturesque locales and vibrant culture, now boasts a new draw for both locals and tourists alike – the Pizza ATM at Sukhna Lake. Managed by the Chandigarh Industrial and Tourism Development Corporation (CITCO), this innovative vending machine is causing quite a buzz in the city, offering a unique culinary experience in just three minutes.

The brainchild behind this ingenious concept is Dr. Rohit Sharma, Founder & CEO of iMatrix Group of Companies (iMatrix worldwide). Drawing inspiration from France, Dr. Sharma and his team at iMatrix crafted the Pizza ATM at their Mohali factory, making it the first of its kind in North India. Despite initial challenges with imported machinery, their homemade solution proved to be a resounding success, capable of churning out delicious pizzas on demand.

According to a report by the Indian Express, the Pizza ATM at Sukhna Lake is the sole operational ATM of its kind in India, a testament to Dr. Sharma’s vision and dedication. With the ability to handle up to seven pizzas simultaneously, the machine offers both convenience and efficiency to pizza enthusiasts.

Since its installation, the response to the Pizza ATM has been overwhelmingly positive. Dr Sharma revealed, “The machine is making around 100 pizzas a day on average, and on weekends, it goes up to 200-300 pizzas.” Moreover, customers are delighted with the affordability of the pizzas, which come at a 35% discount compared to popular pizza chains like Domino’s and Pizza Hut.

CITCO officials emphasized the strategic placement of the Pizza ATM at Sukhna Lake, leveraging the bustling tourist footfall to enhance the overall experience. With a focus on cleanliness and customer satisfaction, they aim to ensure a seamless and enjoyable dining experience for visitors.
